Diogo Serpa Pinto
Co-Founder & Airline Pilot
I’ve always believed that flying is more than just a career—it’s a passion, a way of life. The thrill of taking off, exploring new destinations, and sharing the skies with people from all over the world is something that never gets old.
My journey started in Portugal, where I earned my Commercial Pilot’s License and got my first real commercial flying experience at a skydiving company based in Espinho, Portugal, flying a Cessna 182. After a year of building experience, I took a leap of faith and moved to the UAE, where I started as a Cadet Pilot with one of the country’s leading airlines. That was over 10 years ago, and Dubai has been my home ever since.
Over the last 14 years in aviation, I’ve flown diverse routes, faced unique operational challenges, and met incredible people from all walks of life. The Middle East aviation scene is unlike any other—fast-paced, constantly evolving, and full of opportunities.
Now, through Sharp Aviation Consultancy, I want to help others take off on their own aviation journey. Whether you’re a newly licensed pilot looking for your first airline job or an experienced aviator ready for a new challenge in the UAE, I’ve been in your shoes, and I know what it takes to succeed. My goal is to mentor, guide, and prepare pilots so they can confidently step into this exciting industry and build a rewarding career.

José Rodrigues
Co-Founder & Airline Pilot
Born in Porto, Portugal, my passion for aviation started early, leading me to pursue my ATPL at Nortavia Flight School (2008-2010) while earning a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Sciences from Lusófona University. My career took off in Berlin, Germany, where I completed my B737 Type Rating at Cockpit4U, and soon after, I set off on my first airline role in Jakarta, Indonesia, flying for Sriwijaya Air. This experience exposed me to an international and dynamic flying environment, helping me grow as a pilot both technically and culturally.
Over the years, I have logged 8,000+ flight hours, flying nearly all Boeing 737 variants, from the classic 300/400/500 series to the latest MAX8/MAX9. My career has taken me across diverse regions, allowing me to gain deep insights into airline operations, safety procedures, and cultural adaptability. Today, I fly for a leading airline in the UAE, further expanding my experience in one of the world’s most exciting aviation markets.
Through Sharp Aviation Consultancy, I now want to help other pilots transition into the UAE aviation industry. Whether you're a newly licensed pilot looking for your first airline opportunity or an experienced aviator ready for a new challenge, I’ve been through the journey and understand the hurdles you’ll face. My goal is to provide tailored coaching and real-world insights to help pilots navigate airline recruitment, training, and career progression in the UAE with confidence and ease.
